EARTH DAY Please find attached the flyer for the Earth Day logo design contest. Entries for this should be submitted to Ms. Higley or Mrs. Carney by Feb. 29. The winning design will be printed on Earth Day visitors and drawstring bags. Any student who creates another design and translates it into Mandarin will receive extra credit from their Mandarin teacher. The teachers are explaining the details of this competition to the students. We hope that you can encourage your children to get involved. FROM THE PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA) Thank you to everyone who donated goodies for the bake sale on Valentines Day. Attendance at the PTA general meeting this week was good and we thank you for this. THE DIGITAL SPOT During Parent Teacher Conferences several parents asked me about educational websites related to typing. They wish to encourage their child(ren) to be proficient at typing. I have collated some websites that request registration and are free to use.
The Technology Term of the Week Typing - is the process of inputting text into a device, such as a typewriter, cell phone, computer, or a calculator, by pressing keys on a keyboard. It can be distinguished from other means of input, such as the use of pointing devices like the computer mouse, and text input via speech recognition.
