What are your school hours? Our school operating hours are from 8:00AM until 3:30PM, Mondays through Fridays. After school, activities operate 3:30PM to 4:15PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Early Years half-day program dismisses at 12:00.
Is transportation provided by the school? Yes! We have 6 buses running for students who are living in Ningbo and Beilun. The bus drivers are very experienced. Each bus has a responsible bus monitor to care for the students and monitor safety.
Do you wear uniforms? The students are not required to wear the school uniform every day, only for special events such as sports day and field trips. The uniform is sold at school.
May students enroll during the school year? Yes, we have students enter throughout the academic year. Our teachers welcome new students and have procedures ready to help each child smoothly transition to a new environment.
What supplies do I need to bring to school? Early Year students (Nursery, Pre-K, Kindergarten) need a schoolbag, daily snack, water bottle, a pencil box and a change of clothes in case of spills. Elementary, Middle and High school students need a schoolbag, water bottle, calculator, and gym clothes.
Do you have any after-school activities? AIAN offers a variety of after school activities such as sports, photography, crafts, yoga, writing, drama, etc. The activities vary throughout the academic year.
Are parents involved with the school? AIAN has a very active parent community that volunteers in classrooms, sports events, and activities. The Parent Association holds formal meetings every 6 weeks on campus.
Where are your teachers from? 70% of our teachers are from the U.S. and Canada, and we have teachers from Australia, U.K., New Zealand, South Africa, and an assortment of other countries.
Do you administer standardized achievement tests? Our school is the test site for AP, SAT, PSAT for High School students. We also provide test preparation for IELTS, HSK and TOEFL. Grades 3 – 9 take the International Schools Assessment (ISA) each year.
